We know that children are most vulnerable during times of disaster and crisis

And what we’re dealing with here is a crisis on an unprecedented scale. The traumatic effect of what they’ve seen and lived through cannot be underestimated.

Child Safe Foundation sets up child-friendly spaces for children in communities directly affected

Your generosity can have real impact. By giving, you will directly help the Australian Red Cross in communities affected by wildfires in Australia

These Child Friendly Spaces help children cope by giving them somewhere to be children again.

They can draw, play games and socialize with other children in a safe and supportive environment

Importantly they can begin to process their experiences, which is critical to helping recovery

and building resilience. It also allows parents to do the important things like access support, recover possessions and deal with administrative matters

The Impact of Your Donations

Child Safe Foundation UK creates child-friendly spaces for children in Communities affected by wildfires in Australia

What impact will my donation have?

Child Safe Foundation UK has collaborated with international humanitarian organisations and established Child Friendly Spaces to support displaced families in communities affected by the devastating wildfires ravaging large parts of Australia.

Where are these child-friendly spaces?

The spaces, located in Wagga Wagga in southern New South Wales and in Bairnsdale in eastern Victoria, will provide support and relief to children and families in the surrounding areas affected by the wildfires.

Up to what age are child-friendly spaces for?

At the Child Friendly Spaces, trained, qualified early childhood specialists provide opportunities for children (generally aged 0-12 years) to play and socialize in a safe and supported environment.

Is there support for parents too?

Child Safe Foundation also supports parents and families by linking them to other complimentary services, while giving parents opportunities to recover and the time to begin to address the significant changes in their lives.

Who is Child Safe Foundation UK?

Child Safe Foundation UK believes every child deserves a future. Since our founding 15 years ago, we’ve changed the lives of more than 1 million children. In the United Kingdom and around the world, we give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. We do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share. Follow us on Facebook, and Twitter
